YELLOW CRANE (CHINA)

The Yellow Crane Tower, a traditional Chinese tower, is located in Wuhan. The current structure was constructed from 1981 to 1985, but the tower has existed in various forms since as early as AD 223. The present Yellow Crane Tower stands at a height of 51.4 meters (169 feet) and occupies an area of 3,219 square meters (34,650 square feet). It is perched on Snake Hill, one kilometer away from its original site, on the banks of the Yangtze River in Wuchang District.
