KYOTO IMPERIAL PALACE (JAPAN)
The Kyoto Imperial Palace, located in Kamigyō-ku, Kyoto, Japan, is the former residence of the Emperor of Japan. It served as the Imperial residence for 500 years, from 1331 until the capital moved to Tokyo in 1869. The palace faced multiple fires and was reconstructed on each occasion. The majority of the current structures were rebuilt in 1855.
